LIP SYNCH

The theme I chose for this project was “The Day the Animal Spoke”.
The line and character I came out with was a cow, chewing grass but accidentally bit a screw and lost his teeth, saying “Excuse me, I thought you know I’m herbivorous, right?”
Originally there was another line “but not plasticivorous” came in this. The plasticivorous is a made-up word, meaning an animal that eats plastic, intended to show people are littering plastic everywhere in a humorous way. Somehow it would be too long if this line included.

Initial draft

Here above are some research and character designs. I mainly focused on the expressions, such as how the cow moves his eyeballs, and how his nostril changes when his emotions change.

For the character line, I chose cantonese instead of speaking in English. And since the pronunciation way is quite different, I recorded the mouth shape of myself speaking and sketched out how the mouth move when speaking.
